Short version: there will be no Carpe Dink'em sessions from Wednesday 16 September to Wednesday 30 September. I'm heading overseas for a couple of weeks, and rather than run a patchy half-schedule, we're pausing everything and coming back properly.
The dates that matter
- Last session before the break: Monday 14 September
- No sessions at all: 16-30 September
- First session back: Thursday 1 October
Every session type is affected — Monday and Wednesday Intermediate, Thursday Advanced, Social Saturdays, Advanced Fixed Pairs, Sunday Fixed Pairs and Skills & Drills. The hall at Coolum State High School will be dark for two weeks.
What about my pass?
Nothing to do. Your pass credits sit on your account exactly where you left them and will be waiting when we're back. Nothing expires while we're closed.
Booking sessions from 1 October
The calendar is open as usual, so you can book your first sessions back right now if you want to lock in a spot. Sessions from 1 October onwards are all live on the site and booking normally.
Honestly, that first week back tends to fill fast. Two weeks off makes everyone twitchy.
Getting in touch while we're away
The contact form still works and every message will be read — just expect replies to be slower than usual while I'm in a different time zone. Nothing will be missed, it'll just take a bit longer to come back to you.
Keeping your eye in
Two weeks is long enough to lose a bit of touch, so if you're keen to stay sharp:
- Grab a friend and hit an outdoor court — the Coast has plenty
- Have a read through our rules and strategy guide if there are bits of the game you've been fudging (we all fudge the kitchen rules a little)
- Work on your third shot drop against a wall. Deeply unglamorous, wildly effective.
