Where is Carpe Dink'em Pickleball located?
We play indoors at Coolum State High School, Coolum Beach, Sunshine Coast QLD. There's free parking on site and the courts are easy to find — just follow the signs to the sports hall.
How much does a session cost?
Casual sessions are $15 per person. Skills & Drills (coaching) sessions are $25. You can also save with a 10-session pass for $110 — that's $11 per session and it never expires.
Do I need to bring my own paddle?
No — paddle hire is available at every session. Basic paddle hire is $3, or upgrade to a premium demo paddle for $5. If you're just trying pickleball for the first time, hire is the easiest option.
Do I need any experience to join?
Not at all. Our Social Saturdays session is specifically designed for beginners and first-timers. You'll pick up the basics within the first 20 minutes and be playing real points before the session is over.
What sessions do you run?
We run sessions across the week for all levels: Monday and Wednesday Intermediate, Thursday Advanced, Social Saturdays (beginner-friendly), Upper Advanced King/Queen of the Court (Saturdays), Ladies Only (last Saturday of each month), Sunday Skills & Drills coaching, and Sunday Fixed Pairs Intermediate — Tournament Prep.
How do I book a session?
You can browse and book upcoming sessions directly on our sessions page. Payment is taken online via card or 10-session pass. No cash on the door.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel 24 hours or more before the session and you'll receive either a refund (a small payment processing fee applies) or a full-value 1-session credit toward a future booking. Cancellations within 24 hours of the session are not eligible for a refund or credit.
What is a 10-session pass?
A 10-session pass gives you 10 sessions for $110 — saving $40 compared to casual pricing. Passes never expire, are stored against your phone number, and automatically apply at checkout. If you cancel 24+ hours before a session, the pass usage is credited back.
Can I bring a friend who has never played before?
Absolutely — that's what we're here for. Just book as a group on the sessions page. Your friend will need to sign a waiver before playing (takes about 2 minutes online). Social Saturdays is the best session for first-timers.
What level do I need to be for the advanced sessions?
Thursday Advanced is for 3.5+ rated players who move well on court and can construct points consistently. Upper Advanced (King/Queen of the Court) is for our highest-level players. If you're unsure, start with an Intermediate session — you can always move up.
Is pickleball good for beginners?
Yes — it's one of the most beginner-friendly racquet sports there is. The court is smaller than tennis, the ball moves slower, and the rules are simple. Most people are playing real rallies within their first 15 minutes on court.
What is the Ladies Only session?
Our Ladies Only session runs once a month on the last Saturday, from 12:30–2:30 PM. It's an Intermediate/Advanced level session in a women-only environment. $15 casual.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes — all players need to sign a one-time waiver before their first session. You can sign it online at any time before you arrive. Once signed, you never need to do it again.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes — free parking is available at Coolum State High School. The venue is easy to access and well-signed.
Can I play pickleball if I play tennis?
Definitely — tennis players usually pick up pickleball very quickly. Your footwork and court sense transfer directly. The main adjustment is a softer touch and getting used to the underhand serve. Most tennis players are competitive within a session or two.
